Breast Lift

Breast lift is a surgical procedure performed when the breasts are sagging or drooping. It is usually performed in cases of breast sagging or drooping caused by factors such as ageing, breastfeeding, and weight change.

Breast lift surgery is usually performed in a hospital or surgical centre under general anaesthesia. During the procedure, the breast tissue is reshaped and tightened, the position of the nipple and surrounding tissues is corrected, and breast augmentation surgery (breast implants) may also be performed if necessary.

Breast lift surgery is performed using techniques that prevent sagging of the breast tissue and remove excess skin from the breast. The surgeon lifts the breast tissue higher by removing the excess skin from the breast. In addition, the nipple is aligned with the breast skin in the correct proportion. As a result of this procedure, the breast appears firmer and perkier.

After the procedure, the surgeon will cover the breast area with a bandage and give you instructions to follow during the breast lift process. You may experience swelling, bruising and mild pain for the first few days. Your surgeon will provide you with detailed information about the post-operative recovery process.

How is Breast Lift Performed?

Breast lift surgery is a surgical procedure performed to tighten breast tissue, correct the position of the nipple and surrounding tissues, and remove excess skin from the breast. The procedure is usually performed in a hospital or surgical centre under general anaesthesia and takes 2-4 hours.

The breast lift procedure consists of the following steps:

  1. Anaesthesia: General anaesthesia is administered before the procedure. This means that you will not feel any pain during the procedure.

  2. Incisions: The surgeon makes incisions to remove excess skin from the breast. Incisions are usually made around the nipple, under the breast, or under the breast skin. These incisions may leave small scars that heal after the breast lift procedure.

  3. Breast reshaping: The surgeon reshapes and tightens the breast tissue. If necessary, breast implants can also be inserted. The position of the nipple and surrounding tissue is corrected.

  4. Suturing incisions: The surgeon sutures the incisions to reshape and tighten the breast skin. Suturing incisions ensures that post-operative scars are as minimal as possible.

  5. Bandaging: After the procedure, the breast area is covered with a bandage and you are advised to wear a supportive bra.

After breast lift surgery, you may experience swelling, bruising and mild pain for a few days. The healing process can take several weeks, and your surgeon will give you instructions on what to watch out for after the procedure.
