Female Genital Aesthetics
Female genital aesthetics refers to a series of surgical procedures performed to correct or improve problems with the shape, appearance or function of the female sexual organs. These procedures typically include labiaplasty, vaginoplasty, hymenoplasty, clitoroplasty and vulvoplasty.
Labiaplasty is the most commonly chosen genital cosmetic procedure among women. This procedure aims to change the shape and size of the outer lips (labia majora) or inner lips (labia minora). Generally, conditions that may require labiaplasty include asymmetry of the outer lips or sagging of the inner lips. These conditions can cause pain or discomfort during physical activities and may lead to aesthetic concerns.
Vaginoplasty is a procedure performed to tighten the vaginal walls. This procedure can be performed to correct sagging or widening of the vaginal walls due to loosening after childbirth or ageing. Additionally, vaginoplasty can be used to treat a condition called vaginismus. Vaginismus causes pain or discomfort during sexual intercourse due to the involuntary contraction of the vaginal muscles.
Hymenoplasty is a procedure performed to restore virginity or cause bleeding to occur again. In this procedure, the hymen tissue is repaired or reconstructed.
Clitoroplasty aims to change the appearance or function of the clitoris. This procedure may be performed to correct discomfort caused by the clitoris being too large or too small, or being covered.
Vulvoplasty is a procedure performed to correct the appearance or function of the vagina and surrounding area. This procedure may be performed to remove skin wrinkles or small tumours.
Female genital aesthetic procedures are usually performed under general anaesthesia, and the duration of the procedure may vary depending on the type of procedure. The recovery process may also vary depending on the type of procedure and the patient's health condition. However, the recovery process generally lasts 1-2 weeks after the procedure, and the full recovery process takes 4-6 weeks.
When Should Female Genital Aesthetics Be Performed?
Female genital aesthetics is a treatment method that women may choose for various reasons to improve their sexual health and quality of life. In some cases, women may choose to undergo these procedures to correct problems in the genital area. Here are a few examples of when female genital aesthetics may be necessary:
Asymmetrical or large labia: Some women experience discomfort due to asymmetrical or large labia. In this case, labiaplasty surgery may be performed.
Postpartum problems: The vagina may widen or become damaged after childbirth. In this case, a vaginoplasty procedure may be performed.
Sexual satisfaction problems: Some women may experience difficulties with sexual satisfaction due to problems in the genital area. For example, they may have difficulty achieving sexual satisfaction due to a closed or overly large clitoris. In this case, clitoroplasty surgery may be performed.
Functional problems: Some women may experience functional problems such as urinary incontinence or pain due to problems in the vagina or vulva area. In this case, vulvoplasty or vaginoplasty may be performed.
Aesthetic concerns: Some women may feel uncomfortable with the appearance of their genital area. In this case, labiaplasty or vulvoplasty may be performed.
Female genital aesthetic procedures are performed on an individual basis depending on the patient's discomfort and sexual health issues. These procedures can help resolve sexual health issues and improve women's sexual health and happiness.
